The Galgotias University, Uttar Pradesh, sponsored by Smt. Shakuntala Educational and Welfare Society, has been established by state of Uttar Pradesh under section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide The Galgotias University Uttar Pradesh Act, 14 of 2011. The University commenced its operation from the academic session2011-12.

Galgotias University maintains a good placement record over years. The university has already started its 2022 placement drive. Till now, 19 recruiters actively participated. Major recruiters included Tiger Analytics, EY, Deloitte, Jellyfish Technologies etc. These recruiters have already placed 111 students from various courses.
During the 2022 placement drive, the highest salary offered till date stood at INR 22 LPA which was bagged by a B.Tech student.
